No referral is required for private patients. You will only need a doctor’s referral if:
PHYSIOTHERAPY: At the first consultation, you will be asked about your condition, then undergo a thorough assessment and a diagnosis will be given. We will discuss with you our treatment plan and how long it may take until you recover and return to sport or work. We will also treat and educate you on your condition. You will be given exercises. Feel free to ask any questions at any time. Please bring any relevant scans with you as this will aid with assessment and management of your condition.
PHYSIOTHERAPY: Our appointments are 30 minutes.
Insurance claims are billed directly to the insurer, provided all necessary claim numbers and information is provided to us. Private patients need to settle their accounts at the end of each treatment session. Masnad Health Clinic accepts EFTPOS, Visa/Mastercard payments, cash and cheques.

Physiotherapists use a range of physical tests to try and diagnose your condition. Treatment may involve manual therapy (massage, mobilization, manipulation). Therefore try to wear appropriate clothing to move freely, allow visual inspection and easy ‘hands-on’ access to your involved body part. Masnad Health Clinic will provide a hospital gown, towel and shorts for modesty as required.
It is advisable to bring along any x-rays and scan results that you may already have had taken, a pair of shorts if the injury is to a body part that is under normal clothing, your private health fund card (if you are a member) and means of paying for your consult – ie cash, cheque, credit card. The more information we have, the more effective your treatment will be!
Masnad Health Clinic operates on an appointment only basis. We understand that life is busy and people need to move or cancel their appointments, sometimes at short notice. We appreciate your courtesy in providing as much notice as possible so we can offer the vacant appointment to someone else in need. Every day we have clients on waiting lists for emergency appointments.
Masnad Health Clinic reserves the right to charge a cancellation fee of 50% of treatment cost if less than 24 hours notice is provided regarding an appointment change, cancellation or non-attendance.
You are totally entitled to choose your own therapist! Bring your referral in with you to your first session and we will liaise with the referring doctor to inform them that you have commenced treatment with us.
The more, the merrier! The majority of our clients are self‐referred. They come to see us because they are pleased with the outcomes we’ve achieved for them or because they have family and friends who were so pleased with our service they’ve sent others to us. We would be happy to expect the same word of mouth referrals from you. As a small thank you, we would love to offer you a $10 credit for any service, for each person you refer!
