ONLINE CONSULTATIONS (TELEHEALTH) FAQ
🌐 About Online Consults
An online consultation (telehealth) is a virtual appointment where you meet your therapist via a secure video link. You’ll receive the same expert assessment, education, and guidance you would in person, just without the travel.
Currently, Physiotherapy, Dietitian and Naturopathy sessions can be held online. These are ideal for:
- Clients living further away
- Those with limited mobility
- NDIS or Aged Care clients who prefer at-home support
- Anyone needing progress reviews or exercise updates
Yes. Research shows online consultations can be highly effective for many conditions, especially for exercise guidance, postural correction, and health education. If hands-on treatment is needed, we’ll let you know and arrange an in-person visit.
💻 Technology & Setup
You’ll receive a secure video link (via Zoom or similar platform) before your appointment. Simply click the link at your scheduled time.
Absolutely. Our admin team can guide you through the process and test your connection beforehand if needed. If you prefer, we can switch to a phone consultation.
Not at all. You’ll just need:
- A smartphone, tablet, or computer with a camera and microphone
- A stable internet connection
- A quiet, well-lit space
If your session involves exercise, clear a small area for movement.
No. All telehealth sessions are private and confidential, just as in-person appointments are.
📅 Before & During Your Session
Wear comfortable clothing that allows you to move freely if your therapist needs to assess your posture or movement.
- Join the meeting a few minutes early to check your audio and video.
- Have a notepad, pen, and any relevant medical reports nearby.
- If you’re an NDIS or Aged Care client, keep your plan or approval details handy.
Your therapist will:
- Discuss your goals and any symptoms or updates.
- Perform a movement or posture assessment (if applicable).
- Provide education, lifestyle strategies, and tailored exercise plans via Physitrack or email.
- Schedule follow-up sessions or adjustments as needed.
Yes. You’re welcome to have a family member, carer, or interpreter join the call.
💸 Payments & Rebates
Payment is made prior to or immediately after your session via a secure online link, phone payment, or direct deposit (depending on your funding type).
Yes, telehealth consultations may be claimable under Medicare, WorkCover, CTP, NDIS, or Aged Care (depending on your referral and funding setup). Private health funds may also provide rebates for eligible telehealth sessions.
We don’t routinely bulk bill. While Medicare rebates may apply under an eligible GP Chronic Condition Management Plan (GPCCMP), we choose not to operate a bulk-billing model.
The Medicare rebate is $61.80 per session, with a small gap fee payable on the day. This approach allows us to offer quality care through longer consultations and individualised care delivered by experts in their field.
Despite rising operational costs and limited increases in Medicare rebates, our focus remains on delivering exceptional care, meaningful outcomes, and genuine support for every client who walks through our doors.
We understand that things can come up. If you need to reschedule or cancel, please let us know at least 24 hours in advance. This allows us to offer the appointment to another client on our waiting list. Cancellations made on the same day or missed appointments without notice may incur a $25 late notice fee.
